August 17, 2008 Dressage Schooling Show :  Stonehaven is pleased to offer its first in a series of schooling shows  on Sunday, August 17, 2008. Please take this opportunity to come and meet us and practice for the upcoming Houston Dressage Society Laborious Day Shows I and II. We are pleased to have Donna Meyer as judge and to have HDS sanctioning. Points will be awarded toward year end totals for HDS members. Please call (936) 524-6353 for ride times.

April 10-11, 2010 Dressage Clinic with Ann Michelsen Stonehaven welcomes Ann Michelsen,a native of Hawaii, for a 2-day clinic entitled “A Simple, Systematic Method to Improve Your Test Scores”. Ann is well known on the West Coast and throughout Hawaii for her effective training techniques with all levels of horses and riders. She has trained with some of the best in the world, including Hans Riegler, chief écuyer of the Spanish Riding School. She is a British Horse Society Certified Instructor BHSII, a USEF certified course designer, and a USEF Hunter/Jumper Council Member for Zone 11. She has trained and instructed the USDF National Quarter Horse of the Year in first, second, and third level dressage, and coached Team Hawaii for the years 2000-2002, traveling with them to compete in Vancouver where her team received Champion and Reserve Champion in Amateur Adult and Children’s Hunter. One of her students went on to become 1st in the nation in first level dressage at the collegiate level, and many of her current students are riding successfully through fourth level dressage, receiving numerous Champion and Reserve Champion awards. We are offering a limited number of 45-minute rides with Ann and unlimited audit space. Overnight stabling is available. Tuition is $85 for participant and $30 for auditing. Cooperation is essential to creating a firm foundation from which both horse and rider can advance as a team.  Ann has a unique ability to see beyond surface symptoms, to pinpoint the exact source of miscommunication, and how to effectively correct it, creating the desired ride from the horse and rider’s center/core.  
 
Ann’s method of instruction offers a way to achieve a correct ride consistently, eliminating a potential “domino effect” of errors created by “patches” that only correct the aesthetic of the ride.  Ann invites the aesthetic through correct emphasis of the horse’s motion.

March Madness Dressage Schooling Show  
 
Stonehaven is pleased to offer its March Madness Schooling Dressage Show on Saturday, March 27, 2010.  We welcome Barbara Lewis “L”* judge from the Dallas area.  Points will be awarded toward your year end totals for HDS members. Please download and complete the entry form below and send it, along with a copy of your negative Coggins and  a check to Stonehaven Equestrian, 13367 Kidd Road, Conroe, TX 77302. Our fax number is (936) 273-9246 and e-mail clbrice@consolidated.net.  We need these entries in our hands no later than 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 23. Ride times will be e-mailed and posted on our site by Wednesday, March 24. Overnight and day stabling available on limited basis, so call early to make your reservation (936) 524-6353.
